The 45Nrth Gravdal Studded Tire welcomes you to the world of high-performance commuter tires. 216 studs are carefully positioned across the casing profile to yield a level of confidence and safety never before seen in a commuter tire. Siped tread lugs and oval-shaped stud groupings provide exceptional cornering, braking and acceleration traction. Run the Gravdal at minimum pressure for unmatched traction performance, and maximum pressure for a quieter and faster ride on clean roads. Works great with linear-pull and canti-lever brakes.   • Siping: Tiny grooves on large tread lugs create more edges for grip. These grooves also give the tire more flexibility to move over surface undulations, providing enhanced acceleration, braking and cornering traction while also creating a more comfortable ride quality. Siping has been used in the automobile industry for years to augment the performance of tires in winter driving conditions.
  • Carbide Aluminum Studs: Balancing high density with weight, our carbide-aluminum studs are assembled from two components: an aluminum base with a carbide tip pressed into it. Being the next dense material to diamonds, carbide resists wear from constant contact with asphalt. The aluminum bases that hold the carbide tip are half the weight of stainless steel, significantly reducing the constant rolling weight of the tire. The combination of super durable carbide and super lightweight aluminum provide the optimum balance of durability and performance.
